On today’s installment of fit Monday, I will discuss the importance of keeping a positive mental attitude(PMA) and how that helps with a person obtaining their fitness goals. Also, some basic P90X advice and why running has taken a back seat in my fitness regime. Plus how much weight I have lost from the previous week.

Why running has taken a backseat in my fitness program
And how I am doing with my weight loss efforts – down to 195 lbs
On today’s show I will discuss my current(and hopefully last) drive to lose weight and reach my goal of 185 lbs. I am currently at 197.3 lbs, down one pound since yesterday. My current weight loss plan is an old tried and true method of calorie counting and calorie restriction. I also plan on weighing myself everyday until I reach my goal.
Show Topics/Notes:
• Current weight is 197.3, down one pound since yesterday’s weight of 198.3
• Currently on a calorie restricted diet of 1500 calories
• This plan has worked very well for me in the past
On today’s show I will be talking about my inability to lose the last amount of weight of my diet. I seemingly continue to thwart my goals by not maintaining my weight loss plan. However, I will not give up on my goal of reaching 185 lbs before the end of the year.
Realistically, I should have been at my goal months ago. And the only person I have to blame for this failure is myself and no one else. Such is life, but I will not let my failures stop me.
Also, on today’s show I will briefly discuss quick cardio sessions(guerrilla-cardio). These sessions can be accomplished very quickly. Hence the name, guerrilla cardio-in and out like a guerrilla military fighter. These cardio sessions should only last about 15 minutes in length and no more than 20 minutes.
On today’s podcast, I will be discussing why an adult should consider taking sometime off and resting. My inspiration for today’s podcast is from the sickness that I felt when I first woke up this morning. And guess what? I decided to take the day off from exercising and sleep in. I woke up feeling better and refreshed as well.
The fact that I woke up ill made it clear to me that I had pushed myself too hard the last three weeks and my body had finally had enough. An adults body has the capacity to be pushed past the point of fatigue and still continue to function. However, if that physical stress continues unabated over a prolong period of time without rest, the possibility of physical injury increases.
Show Topics:
Taking a day off when you are not feeling well and not working out
Listening to our bodies
As we get older, we have to be more careful to push ourselves to far, past the point of exertion
Younger bodies succumb to sickness far easier in comparison to an adult’s body, but that sickness gives adolescences time to heal and recharge their bodies
As adults, our immunity system hardens and we do not easily become ill
And that is where we have to be careful, as an adult’s body can be pushed past the point of exertion and continue to function
However, working out during these times of fatigue could lead to injury
My suggestion-take some time off and give your body a chance to rest

Episode 49: CyberWarfare Chronicles-Even The Government Gets It…
Show Summary:
On today’s show we find out that certain parts of our federal government are very afraid of a potential cyber-attack. A cyber-attack against America’s infrastructure could cause crippling problems to the American economy and cause devastation the likes of which this country has never seen before. However, no one really knows when or where an attack could occur, and that is a problem.

Welcome back to another episode of Fit Monday. On today’s show I am going to discuss my return back to P90X starting this week, trying to mix in a little running to my workouts, and working on cleaning up my weight area. I was busy this weekend.
On running, I really miss getting out there burning up some miles, even if it is at a snail’s pace. My body was really get used to the exertion. And I miss getting outside as well. I have just been friggin to busy of late to get out. Been putting in quite a bit of time in front of the PC working on projects, traveling, and organizing/cleaning my apartment(was needed badly).
This leads me to my next fitness project, P90X. I have never completed this program. Been through about 6 weeks straight, but I never can get over that hump. I would like to complete the program and see what results I get out of it. Will see what happens and I will keep updates on the site when I can.
Show Notes:
Tech Stuff-New logo for site is up-this site will primarily become a podcasting site from now on-I will be starting a blog(using the WordPress.org platform) by the end of this week where I will do most of my writing and that blog will cover topics covering the subject matter discussed on this website and my other site, Poor Man Prepper.
I need to get moving again-I miss running(want to get in a least three runs a week)
Yes I am mixing in P90X as well, but I want to complete this program from start to finish-and that includes Yoga too, yuck
Episode 47: HBO Doc About An Overweight Nation Part 2…

Episode 45: CyberWarfare Chronicles-Connection Between Flame and Stuxnet…
Show Summary:
Well, the fact that these two cyber weapons were connected in some way is not surprising. It seems that governments are set on using these weapons against other sovereign states. Unfortunately for us, Pandora’s Box has now been opened.
Curtsey of Yahoo-ABC News
In both cases, cyber security experts that analyzed the programs’ code determined that due to similarities in cost, time requirement and apparent target, it was likely they had each been developed under the direction of a nation-state, leading to speculation the U.S. or Israel may be involved. However, the same experts quickly noted that Flame’s code architecture was vastly different from Stuxnet’s and determined that while both could have come from the same nation-state, they were not likely written together.
If these weapons are turned against average citizens, the results would be catastrophic. The enter-connectivity of our society could be unhinged in a very short period of time. As I have mentioned before, entire corporate infrastructures could be exposed to cyber-attacks similar to the ones that have been seen in the Middle-East.
Think of what could happen if entire banking systems were shut down or disrupted. Millions of people unable to draw funds or make purchases electronically. It would be a nightmare.
